Why we established our own duo
Music is our life, and we have spent countless hours trying to perfect our craft. We are highly educated, and trained musicians. Our love for music, and our musical training on our instruments stems back to elementary school, and have been at the forefront of our education up through Graduate degrees. Both of us have auditioned and participated in music festivals and we have auditioned and won seats in professional orchestras. We were brought together in marriage partly because we have the same views on what music means to us. We love to make personal connections with people through music. After gigging with numerous music gigging agencies and networks we felt we weren’t experiencing the level of personal connections that we were craving between customers and musicians and also between musicians and musicians. Duo Licht LLC is both of us, and only us. This allows us to know our repertoire intimately, to build our unique sound on a regular basis, and because we know each other so well personally and musically our focus can encompass more than just playing the notes. Because we are an established duo, we are able to play music that is more challenging and complicated from what you typically expect to hear.
We believe in the power of music to bring us together. Music is a shared experience. As an art form, live music is appreciated as something to be experienced in a particular moment in time. We want to enhance your special moments in time. Together we can create unique memories that feel like we have shared something that can’t be replicated.
We are passionate about bringing music to a variety of audiences. These audiences are wide ranging and some examples include: integrating education with music in classrooms, performing background music in restaurants, performing in nursing homes and hospitals, teaching private lessons, arranging and preparing music to be performed at weddings.
When you are considering us for hire the level of our commitment is always the same. Our enthusiasm for connecting with others through music is equal for the children singing their hearts out to “Baby Shark” and the couple who hear their chosen wedding soundtrack live on their special day.
